i.e. vs e.g.

i.e.是拉丁文id est的缩写，它的意思就是that is.被用来近一步描述一个已经被提及过的东西。 而e.g.是拉丁文 exempli gratia的缩写, 意思是“for the sake of example”，更通俗的说就是 “for example.” 它被用来引出之前陈述过的内容的例子。

我们可以把 i.e. 当中的 i 记成是“in other words.”这就意味着接下来我们要准备补充说明或者重新解释我们刚刚提到的部分。 e.g. 就把它当作是“example”的简单形式。

Triple VS Treble

triple是多个不同的东西形成的三倍、三个部分的：比如triple-sized；

treble是多个同样的东西形成的三倍、乘以三的：比如treble nine（999）；

Some people use them in place of each other, which is non-standard, but still understandable.

Quarter vs Quadruple

The quarter, short for quarter dollar, is a United States coin worth 25 cents, one-quarter of a dollar.

quarter：25美分，1美元的四分之一，相等的四个部分之一 *一季度“””小时; 一个“四分之一”世纪；“四分之一”注；四分之一磅。

quadruple 长度是东西的四倍，大或多。
